Sixth Form Student takes on Snowdon Charity Challenge

Year 12 student Ben is taking on the challenge of a lifetime - climbing Mount Snowdon seven times on seven consecutive days!! Read on below, as Ben tells us all about his amazing adventure...

Currently, I have strong aspirations to join the police after I have completed my A-Levels. However the military is always something that I have been passionate about and interested in. That’s why I have decided to set up my own charity event – Walk for Heroes: The Snowdon 7 Challenge.

Mount Snowdon is the tallest peak in England and Wales, at a height of 1085m above sea level. Between the 24th-30th July 2022, I will be climbing Snowdon seven times over seven consecutive days on behalf of the Veterans’ Foundation as the beneficiary, to raise funds and awareness for UK Armed Forces veterans.

The Veterans’ Foundation is one of the country’s fastest-growing military charities and are proud to work with hundreds of smaller charities and charitable organisations across UK that share our passion: to provide a better life for our Armed Forces family who are in need. They help their partner organisations by supporting them to deliver life-changing projects through their grant award scheme, and since they were founded in 2016, have already raised over £9 million towards helping our Armed Forces community. Their main areas of support range from PTSD and other mental health issues to homelessness, from limblessness to poverty and unemployment, and from physical challenges like deafness to social isolation.
