Learning Resources Centre

Montsaye Academy’s Learning Resource Centre is an area dedicated to supporting students and staff. Our aim is to encourage the enjoyment of reading, to provide resources and to support staff and students with their studies.

We offer a range of resources including fiction and non-fiction books, graphic books, quick reads and picture books, DVDs, newspapers and magazines, We also organise author visits, competitions and reading challenges.

The Learning Resource Centre is open before school from 8 am, at break, at lunch and after school until 4pm (except Friday). There is a member of LRC staff available every Monday to Thursday until 4pm to assist with homework.

There are also lunchtime activities including Inter-House quizzes.

All new year 7 students have a Learning Resource Centre induction session in the first half term which is arranged during an English lesson. All year 7, 8 and 9 students have a library lesson every fortnight.  Students may borrow up to five books for three weeks free of charge and there are no fines for late returns.

The Learning Resource Centre has 30 computers and printers. We also sell most items of stationery.

If you would like any more information or would like to visit our Learning Resource Centre, please contact us on 01536 418844 ext 120.
